Workbench

A career OS

Run your career like a product.

Workbench keeps your job search and your LinkedIn writing in one record. It puts one next step first and shows why, tracks who can refer you, builds each resume from your own experience and flags any claim in a draft that isn't in your notes.

A day in Workbench

8:00The brief

Today ranks what is due across your search, your posts and your practice, and puts one thing first with its reasons. The Inbox lists follow-ups due today and referral asks that have waited a week.

8:15The people

People shows who to reach out to next: referrals waiting, follow-ups due and contacts gone quiet. Log a touch from the row. When someone refers you, Today ranks that application above routine follow-ups.

8:30The resume

Tailor a resume from your career record. Every bullet cites the experience it came from, and each requirement in the job shows Proven, Thin or Gap.

FriThe review

The weekly review reads the week against your targets and lists what moved, closed and stalled. Lock next week's plan on the same page.

Each step feeds the next.

Every action leaves a record, and the next screen reads it. Nothing gets typed twice.

  1. Jobs › Career record

    Write it down once

Each piece of work becomes an experience with an id, its skills and a count of the places that use it.

  2. Career record › Resumes

    Tailor from the record

A resume version cites experiences by id and shows how it covers the job's requirements.

  3. Jobs › Pipeline

    Apply with it

The application carries its stage, its next action, its due date and the people on the role.

  4. Jobs › People

    Work the people

Asks, messages and replies are logged as touches, so Reach out next knows who is waiting on you.

  5. Today › Brief

    Do the next thing

Due dates, referrals and stages become one ranked list, with the points behind each place.

  6. Today › Weekly review

    Read the week

Stage changes land in Moved and Closed. Roles that sit still land in Stalled.

  7. Analytics › Learnings

    Learn what works

Learnings shows the callback rate of each resume version and marks the best one with 8 or more sends.

Back to step 2: duplicate the version that gets callbacks for the next role.

It reads the job before you apply.

Pursue a role and Workbench checks it against your career record.

Requirements

Each job description becomes a list of requirements, and each one shows Proven, Thin or Gap from your career record.

Jobs › Role

Company tiers

Every company sits in Dream, Target, Open or Excluded. Filter the Pipeline and People by tier.

Settings › Job search

Learnings

When applications close, Learnings compares resume versions by callback rate and names the patterns in your debriefs.

Nothing goes out without you.

  1. Built from your record

Drafts start from your ideas and notes. Tailored resumes use the experiences in your record, and any other text is tagged Not from the record.

  2. Checked before it can be scheduled

After a draft is written, a check underlines any claim that isn't in what you wrote. Schedule stays locked until you remove it, edit it or mark it true.

  3. Posted when you say so

Nothing reaches LinkedIn until you schedule or post it. Settings exports everything as a .zip of JSON.
